20th Century Studios has shared the official Ella McCay trailer for the upcoming comedy drama, which is described as a story about the people you love and how to survive them. The movie scheduled to arrive in theaters on December 12, 2025, pitting it directly against Chloé Zhao’s Hamnet and Netflix’s Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. It will also be debuting in the same month as Jay Kelly, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, Avatar: Fire and Ash, Anaconda, and Marty Surpreme.

“The story follows an idealistic young politician who juggles familial issues and a challenging work life while preparing to take over the job of her mentor, the state’s longtime incumbent governor,” reads the synopsis.
